Rajnikanth attends Jayalalithaa's swearing-in
Chennai, May 23 (IBNS) Superstar Rajinikanth attended the oath taking ceremony of J Jayalalithaa as chief minister of Tamil Nadu.
Rajnikanth is the neighbour Jayalalithaa in the Poes Garden area.
Jayalalithaa left her residence a little later, at 10.37 am. She took oath at 11 am along with 28 minsters in the centenary hall of the Madras University.
The AIADMK leader took oath as chief minister for the fifth time on Saturday.
She had stepped down for a brief period in her second term too and had to be sworn in again.
She was in the middle of her third term, when a Bangalore court convicted her in September last year in a corruption case and she had to resign as CM after being disqualified as a lawmaker.
Earlier this month, the Karnataka High Court quashed her conviction and acquitted her of corruption charges, clearing the way for her return as chief minister.
