New Delhi: NGT verdict likely on Art of Living event today
New Delhi, Mar 8 (IBNS) The National Green Tribunal is likely to decide the fate of the festival organised by spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living Foundation in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The event, which will be held from Mar 11, is planned on Yamuna floods plains here.
Saying the event might cause damage to the Yamuna ecosystem, several NGOs and environmental activists have moved the NGT.
President Pranab Mukherjee will not attend a festival.
A Rashtrapati Bhavan source was quoted as saying by The Hindu that Mukherjee would not attend the event, which has come under the scanner of National Green Tribunal (NGT) for alleged violation of environmental norms.
The festival will be held on the Yamuna floodplains here.
According to the Art of Living Foundation website: "The World Culture Festival 2016 is a celebration of The Art of Living's 35 years ofservice to humanity, spirituality and human values. It will take place on March 11-13, 2016 in New Delhi, India."
