Headley hearing adjourned owing to video link failure
Mumbai, Feb 10 (IBNS) The ongoing hearing of 26/11 Mumbai attack convict David Coleman Headley before a Mumbai court from a US prison was cancelled on its third day owing to video link failures, said reports.
Reports said the video link could not be established despite several attempts leading to the adjournment of the hearing.
Special public prosecutor in the case Ujjwal Nikam was quoted in media saying there were technical problems from America.
The hearing is likely to tomorrow at 7 am.
During his deposition in the past two days, Headley has confirmed his association with the ISI and how the Pakistan spy agency financially and militarily support the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), which is behind the Mumbai attacks, and work in close nexus with it.
Nikam said that Headley has confirmed that he worked closely with the ISI on the Mumbai attack which claimed 166 lives and injured many.
Headley was also in touch with several Brigadiers in Pakistan and was carrying off plans of securing Indian Army personnel for spying against India.
According to his disclosure, the LeT was given moral, financial and military support from the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
David Headley said that the attack was a third such attempt as the previous two attempts were foiled.
The US national also said that he was a frequent visitor in India, having visited the country on eight occasions.
Headley has also clarified that he was inspired by Hafiz Saeed's speech to carry on a jihad against India and joined the fringe outfit in 2002.
A US citizen and a convict of the state, Headley who is 55 years old, was 18 when he moved to the US from Pakistan.
His real name is Dawood Gilani and changed his name only after request from his LeT colleague Sajid Mir, who is also his handler.
