Egypt returns to IFTM Paris 2025 with new travel experiences
Egypt is set to showcase its evolving tourism landscape at IFTM Paris 2025, highlighting a new era of unique diversity, spiritual discovery, and a focus on sustainability.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is introducing a range of new experiences, including eco-tourism initiatives and exclusive cultural journeys, tailored to meet the changing needs of travellers from France and around the world.
While Egypt is most famous for its ancient wonders, it also embodies a deep cultural, spiritual, and natural richness. From the bustling streets of Cairo and Alexandria to the tranquil landscapes of Siwa and Sinai, there’s something for every kind of traveller.
Growing interest in spiritual tourism has also led to curated routes linking sacred sites across Egypt, offering modern pilgrims a truly transformative experience, the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA) said.
Opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum
After years of anticipation, the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is set to open its doors on Nov 1, 2025.
Overlooking the Pyramids of Giza, this architectural masterpiece is the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization — ancient Egypt.
Inside, visitors can expect an unparalleled experience, with countless artifacts on display in a cutting-edge space that blends history, technology, and immersive storytelling.
For the first time ever, the complete Tutankhamun collection will be showcased together in one place, according to the ETA.
Redefining Travel: Eco-Tourism and Sustainability
At the core of Egypt’s tourism revival is a new strategy from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The plan focuses on making tourism more sustainable, offering a wider variety of travel options, and improving destinations across the country.
To achieve this, the Ministry is investing in better infrastructure and working with international partners, with the aim of ensuring Egypt remains a top travel destination well into the future.
“Egypt combines the allure of timeless ancient wonders with new, immersive experiences that showcase the country’s full spectrum of heritage and life,” said Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Authority.
To meet the demands of today’s travellers, Egypt is launching a variety of new travel products. This includes everything from boutique eco-lodges and immersive cultural circuits to wellness retreats and luxury desert safaris.
These new experiences are meant for both the adventurer and the person who appreciates finer things, providing high-quality options at a competitive price.
Green tourism focus: Exploring the Red Sea and Nile Valley
Egypt’s commitment to eco-tourism has grown significantly, with a special focus on the Red Sea and Nile Valley.
To protect its natural biodiversity, the country has implemented stronger marine protection policies, encouraged plastic-free zones, and enhanced its green certifications for hotels and tour operators.
These efforts ensure visitors can explore Egypt's natural beauty responsibly, whether they are diving in the coral reefs, bird-watching in the Nile Delta, or trekking in the White Desert.
“From the Grand Egyptian Museum to our expanding eco-tourism projects, and with investments in digital innovation and infrastructure, Egypt is future-ready and more welcoming than ever,” Youssef added.
