You may try to paint Modi, but can't dent his image: M Venkaiah Naidu
New Delhi, Aug 12 (IBNS): Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday took apart the Congress and came to the defence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who's under the pump following several reports of atrocities against the backward caste people.
Naidu said that one can try and paint the Prime Minister but will fail to dent his image as he is loved by the poorer section of the society.
"You may try to paint Modi, but you can't dent his image. Poor people consider him as their Messiah," he tweeted.
He also accused the Congress of misrule and ruining India for half a century.
Asking them to stop indulging in a 'mud slinging' contest as it will be counter productive, Naidu said, "You ruled and ruined the country for 50 years. Don't try to throw mud on others. It'll boomerang."
Naidu also held the Congress responsible for the growing atrocities against the backward caste people.
He said that the Congress used these people as mere vote banks and never really cared much for them.
"Had you taken care of the social evils and empowered weaker sections, the incidents of Dalit atrocities wouldn't have arisen. Had the Congress not used Dalits as mere vote banks, these incidents wouldn't have occurred now," Naidu tweeted.
