Vasundhara Raje refuses to talk on affidavit supporting Lalit Modi
New Delhi/Jaipur, June 25 (IBNS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje maintained her silence on the political storm kicked up revelation of an affidavit she signed seeking to protect former IPL boss Lalit Modi, who faces charges of indulging in corruption and money laundering.
While speaking about the state's development at a public function on Thursday morning the CM refused to answer questions on the affidavit, submitted in a UK court, that Congress made public on Wednesday and demanded her resignation for supporting Modi.
Media reports quoted sources in Raje's party, the BJP, as saying that top leaders from Delhi, including Union Minister JP Nadda, have been asked to talk to her.
The affidavit presented to a UK court in 2011 describes as "a full frontal attack" that was "politically motivated," an investigation against Lalit Modi into a series of corruption cases during his tenure as chief of the Indian Premier League.
The revelation came two days after senior union minister Nitin Gadkari met Raje to extend the party's support to her and said the allegations against her are "baseless."
The Rajasthan unit of the BJP has said it is firmly behind Raje and has ruled out her resignation.

The Congress has also attacked Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj for backing a request by Lalit Modi in the UK for urgent travel documents last year.
