Union Minister Nitin Gadkari launches Prabha Khaitan Foundation's website
New Delhi/Kolkata/TWF: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday launched the official website of Kolkata-based Prabha Khaitan Foundation.
The website was launched virtually.
Lauding late Indian novelist-poet-entrepreneur Prabha Khaitan, on whose name the foundation has been created, Gadkari said, "Prabha Khaitan in her life had worked with social responsibility in various fields. Her mission was only working for people in life.
"It is our duty to help all those who are helpless in our society."
"Prabha Khaitan had worked for women empowerment in art and culture and literature. She had tried to make her life sustainable by developing her talents. I am happy that her works are carried forward by the foundation which has been created in the name of Prabha Khaitan," he added.
Speaking on women empowerment, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways said, "Women have the same rights as that of men. Men and women should be economically and socially equal. We should create a society where there should be no discrimination on the basis of caste, ideology, religion, language and sex.
"We want to make such an Atmanirbhar Bharat where there should be no discrimination on the basis of caste, ideology, religion, language and sex. Organisations like Prabha Khaitan Foundation will bring about changes in the society. I believe we will achieve the goal one day."

Prabha Khaitan Foundation is engaged in promoting folk art and culture, literature, music and also the empowerment of women, education for children and support for the elderly. Prabha Khaitan Foundation organizes various literary events in more than 25 cities of India and also in London, Birmingham and Dubai.
