Radhika Yadav, a 25-year-old state-level tennis player, was shot dead by her father at their home in Haryana's Gurugram on Thursday.
The father, Deepak Yadav, fired five bullets at his daughter, and three hit her.
The police have arrested him, and an investigation is underway.
According to reports, the father had an altercation with Radhika over a video reel she had shot for Instagram.
The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on the first floor of the Yadav family's residence, located in Sector 57 of Gurugram. Radhika's father, who was allegedly angered by the post, took out his licensed revolver and opened fire at her, HT reported.
