Rape-accused UP Minister Gayatri Prajapati goes missing as police search his houses
Lucknow, Mar 1 (lBNS) : Uttar Pradesh Minister Gayatri Prajapathas reportedly gone "missing" with police closing in on him following a Supreme Court directive in connection with a rape case, media reports said.
According to reports, the UP police on Tuesday searched two of Prajapati's official residences at Hazaratganj in Lucknow, but could not find him.
It is being assumed that he has gone undeground.
The move by police came after the apex court asked the Government to take action against the controversial Minister.
Prajapati was last seen in Amethi, where he is contesting on the Samajwadi Party ticket in the ongoing Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections.
He is the candidate of the Samajwadi Party from Amethi.
He has been charged in a gang-rape case.
