Rahul timing could have been better: Digvijaya
New Delhi, Feb 24 (IBNS): A day after it was reported that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has taken a brief break from politics in an attempt to 'reflect on recent events', senior party leader Digvijaya Singh said the timing of the leave could have been better.
"If Rahul wans to reflect what went wrong [ read electoral debacles of Congress] why criticise him ? Every one wants some peace to reflect. Only timing could have been better," tweeted Singh, known for his proximity to the Gandhi family.
Rahul is on a few days' leave, Congress President Sonia told news channels when asked about Rahul Gandhi's absence from party affairs.
"Rahul is on a few days' leave... He has already left on leave. Give him a few weeks," Sonia told Headlines Today.
She refused to elaborate more on the matter.
Rahul Gandhi's absence from party affairs and the ongoing Budget Session of the Parliament on Monday invited criticisms from the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Rahul Gandhi has always been seen as a reluctant Prince of the Congress party. He has so far failed to woo voters for the Congress.
