Powerful IED found in Assam

Guwahati, June 22 (IBNS): Security forces on Monday recovered a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Assam's Sonitpur district, police said.

Suspected NDFB(S) militants planted the powerful IED weighing five kilograms under a culvert near Dhekiajuli in the north Assam district.

Sonitpur district SP Sanjukta Parashar said that, army bomb squad team later defused the IED.

Having investigated on the entire matter, the police has launched operation to nab the suspected militants in the area.
