Political parties should have patience to listen: Dwivedi
New Delhi, Aug 5 (IBNS): Senior Congress leader Janardan Dwivedi has sparked off a fresh controversy with his statement where he said that a political organisation should not only make itself heard but should have the patience to listen as well.
“A political organisation should not only make itself heard but should have the patience to listen,” Dwivedi said.
The veteran Congress stalwart’s statement came as reaction to another senior party leader Jagmeet Brar’s comment that “Gandhi should take a break and make way for other leaders”, media reports said.
Asked about the party’s reaction, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that he never heard of what Dwivedi had said.
“I will have to check and revert to you,” the spokesperson said.
Earlier, Dwivedi had also triggered controversy during an interview just ahead of the crucial general election this year where he raised the issue of effectiveness of reservations based on caste.
He had questioned whether there was a need to continue with such a policy and called for a debate within the party.
