Modi's jibe at the Congress continues in poll-bound Bihar, Rahul attacks PM
Purnea/Patna, Nov 2 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi's verbal volley at the 'Grand Alliance' in Bihar continued, this time reaching a new high as he launched yet another virulent attack asking the Congress to 'Drown in Shame' (doob maro) in his Purnea rally over the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, here on Monday, while in another rally Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi slammed the PM over several issues.
On the anniversary of the 1984 riots that saw the killings of several Sikhs in the national capital in the aftermath of the assassination of Indira Gandhi, Modi questioned the Congress' audacity about lecturing him on the subject of intolerance.
Modi said, "I want to thank Lalu Ji and Nitish Ji", while adding, "Now you must be surprised on why Modi Ji is thanking these two in midst of the election battle, it is because they have allowed the BJP to win in the 40 seats that they have left for Congress."
Demanding reports of Nitish Kumar's progressive work in Bihar, Modi said that it must be a need for Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar to join the Congress, a party they have opposed for many years now.
Meanwhile in another rally, Rahul Gandhi of the Congress crying foul against the BJP, called them habitual offenders. Gandhi said that the BJP engages in communal fights and aims at causing disruptions in the progress of India.
Gandhi also said that Modi kept talking about 'Acche Din' (Good Day's), but ask him now about it. "Why the silence all of a sudden?" he questioned/
"Modi said that he will bring back the black money and we will all receive 15 lakhs," he said, and mockingly added, "Have anyone of you received anything yet."
Accusing Modi and his government of the soaring prices, the Gandhi scion said that the prices of dal (pulses) have gone up from Rs. 70 a kilo to Rs. 200 and that it is customary these days to sing praises of Modi, even if one is hungry (Dal Roti maat Khao, Modi ki Gun gao).
