
Key accused in Salman Khan house firing incident dies after attempting suicide
One of the key accused in the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's Mumbai residence attempted suicide in police custody, media reports said.
He was rushed to hospital where he died while receiving medical treatment.
The man, identified as 32-year-old Anuj Thapan, was accused of providing weapons to two shooters who fired shots outside Salman Khan's house in Mumbai, reported India Today.
Anuj Thapan and another accused Sonu Subhash Chander were arrested from Punjab on April 25.
Two unidentified men on a motorcycle fired five rounds in the air outside Khan's Bandra home at 5 AM before fleeing from the scene last month.
A bullet also hit the first floor of the building where Khan resides, police said.
Two other accused who were identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Palare also currently in police custody.
They allegedly fired shots at Khan's residence.
They were caught on CCTV footage escaping the scene of the incident after firing shots.
According to reports, they allegedly have ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
