Huge explosion near Kabul airport, at least four killed
Kabul, Aug 10 (IBNS) A car bomb exploded near the entrance to Kabul airport on Monday, killing at least four people and wounding 17, reports said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack which comes after a wave of lethal bombings in the capital on Friday as the insurgency escalates following a bitter power transition within the Taliban.
Reprots quoted security officials as saying that two armoured cars blew up though it was not clear who were in the vehicles.
The mangled, flaming wreckage of one of the cars lay on its side, as dozens of fire fighters and police gathered soon after the explosion.
Reports said pieces of charred flesh lay strewn around the checkpoint, where passengers undergo the first round of body checks before entering the airport.
