Aligarh univerity's hospital fails to procure ambulance, ailing professor dies
New Delhi, Oct 26 (IBNS): Senior Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) faculty, Professor D Murthy died at the university's hospital as the authorities could not procure an ambulance for him in over six hours, according to media reports on Wednesday.
Professor Murthy, was suffering from cancer and the doctors at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) had advised that he be taken to a Delhi hospital after his condition deteriorated following a surgery, media reported.
The hospital had earlier also been accused of negligence when a student undergoing dengue treatement died last month. Five doctors had been booked over the incident, media reported.
The Times of India reported that AMU vice-chancellor Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah (Retd) has said that he has formed a three-member panel to investigate the episode.
