AIIMS report suggests Sunanda died of poisoning
New Delhi, Oct 10 (IBNS): A team of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) doctors submitted a fresh report to police saying Sunanda Pushkar, wife of former Union minister Shashi Tharoor, died of poisoning, media reports said.
The new report, “Subsequent Medical Board Opinion”, was submitted to the police on September 30.
The fresh findings by the three-member panel of doctors were prepared on the basis of a report given by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL). CFSL had examined Sunanda’s viscera.
Earlier, the viscera report of CFSL in March this year had hinted at drug poisoning. But police considered it as inconclusive and then sent the CFSL report to AIIMS for a second opinion.
Sunanda was found dead in a 5-star hotel in South Delhi on January 18. The incident took place a day after her Twitter spat with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar over an alleged affair with Tharoor.
