After UP, Uttarakhand starts crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses
Dehradun, Apr 8 (IBNS) : Following the footsteps of Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, the Uttarakhand Government has launched a crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses in the state, reports said.
Government teams on Saturday started raiding unlicensed abattoirs in Dehradun with notices being issued to seven persons.
According to reports, slaughterhouses without license and those violating environmental norms, are being shut down.
The Government teams comprise officials from the police, municipal, district administration and food safety departments.
A number of illegal slaughterhouses have been shut across Uttar Pradesh after BJP leader Yogi Adityanath took over as the Chief Minister of the state.
The move was followed by similar clamp down on illegal slaughter houses in several other BJP-ruled states.
