After Delhi Maharashtra resident doctors go on indefinite strike
Mumbai, Jul 2 (IBNS) About 4000 resident doctors have gone on an indefinite strike in Maharashtra in support of their 10-point charter of demands putting in jeopardy health service in the state.
Reports said they have made the move in support of a 10-point charter of demands, including regular working hours, better security and time-bound pay hikes.
The resident doctors met the Maharashtra Health Minister Vinod Tawde for another round of talks on Wednesday, but failed to reach any consensus.
The strike in Maharashtra follows the seize work by about 15,000 doctors in Delhi who are demanding more security at the workplace, adequate life-saving and generic drugs and drinking water facilities.
The Delhi government has accepted all demands of the doctors and has asked them to resume duty.
