Criticising the act of suspension, opposition leader VS Achuthanandan slammed the chief minister and Finance Minister KM Mani and questioned why no action was taken against UDF MLAs who misbehaved with women MLAs.
Last Friday, the five Left MLAs, among others, blocked the speaker, invaded the dais and broke mikes when the Finance Minister was presenting the state budget. They raised the allegation of briber against Mani.
.As a result, ruling United Democratic Front and Opposition Left Democratic Front MLAs came to blows, threw the Speaker's chair and overturned tables in an unprecedented bedlam in the state Assembly.
