Monsoon likely to be above normal in 2016: Skymet
New Delhi, Apr 12 (IBNS) India is going to experience above normal monsoon in 2016, as per private weather forecaster Skymet Weather Services .
"According to Skymet Weather, Monsoon 2016 is likely to remain above than the normal at 105% (with an error margin of +/-4%) of the long period average (LPA) of 887 mm for the four-month period from June to September," read the Skymet Weather Services website.
India Meteorological Department might release its forecast for monsoon rains this year soon.
India has been facing severe summer this time.
Maharashtra is facing drought and a water train, which is carrying around five lakh litres of water, reached drought-hit Latur in Marathwada region of the state on Tuesday.
The steam-cleaned 50 tank wagons were dispatched from Kota in Rajasthan on Friday and filled with water at Miraj in Maharashtra.
Marathwada has been facing severe drought.
