Union Agriculture minister says food production will be robust in 2017-18
New Delhi, Sep 19 (IBNS): Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh inaugurated the two-day National Conference on Agriculture for Rabi Campaign - 2017, in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Minister Radha Mohan Singh said, "At the conference, crops will be reviewed, and strategies for the upcoming Rabi season will be discussed with the state governments."
Addressing the gathering, the minister said that food production will be robust in 2017-18, media reported.
According to media reports, the minister said that by March 2018 all farmland will have access to electricity,
"Will increase oil seeds production by increasing oil palm cultivation," said the minister.
Ministers of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Krishna Raj and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Secretary; Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, S.K. Pattanayak; Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and DG, ICAR, Dr. T. Mohapatra and other dignitaries were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
