The day India protests ceasefire violations, Pakistan makes spy drone claim
New Delhi, Jul 16 (IBNS) Pakistan has summoned the Indian envoy after claiming it had shot down an Indian "spy" drone.
India has denied the claim.
Pakistan's claim over "Spy drone" coincides the Indian protest against repeated ceasefire violations along the border in Jammu and Kashmir.
Media reports say Pakistan wants to lodge its strong protest with Indian High Commissioner TCA Raghavan over "intrusion into its airspace."
However, the Indian military has strongly denied the allegation.
"Some reports of a drone crash in POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) are being referred to. No drone or UAV crash of Indian Army has taken place," the defence ministry said in a statement.
The Pakistan army alleges that the drone was being used for aerial photography near the Line of Control and was shot down in the Bhimber area of PoK for "violation of Pakistan's territorial integrity."
Earlier, India registered its strong protest with Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit after the killing of a civilian near the International Border in Jammu.
A woman was killed and six, including two soldiers, were injured in heavy firing from across the border in Akhnoor sector.
This was the seventh ceasefire violation this month.
The border trouble comes days after PM Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif held talks on the sidelines of a regional summit in Ufa in Russia that led to a string of "breakthrough" decisions., the two countries decided to arrange meetings of senior military officers to reduce tension along the border.
