PM Narendra Modi conveys his greetings to the people on United Nations Day
New Delhi, Oct 24 ((IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday conveyed his greetings to the people on United Nations Day.
"Greetings to everyone on UN Day. UN completes 70 years in service of humanity, committed to its goal of making the world a peaceful place," Modi said.
"India is at the forefront of various initiatives of the UN and is committed to doing our best in supporting UN in their endeavours," he said.
He said, "On UN day iconic buildings worldwide will be illuminated in blue at night. In India, Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad will be illuminated."
"The ideals and path shown by Gandhi ji are extremely relevant today and they resonate with the UN charter and ideals of the UN, " the Prime Minister said.
