PM Modi meets top Ministers to discuss Parliament strategy
New Delhi, Nov 18 (IBNS) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on met top ministers of his cabinet before parliament proceedings began on Friday to discuss the Government's strategy in the face of the united onslaught of the Opposition on the issue of demonetisation, reports said.
Senior ministers Arun Jaitley, Ananth Kumar and Venkaiah Naidu were present at the meeting.
Parliament witnessed continued ruckus on the first two days of the winter session with the opposition doggedly pursuing with the issue demanding in both Houses a threadbare discussion on the Government's decision to scrap Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 notes.
The Opposition, which kept demanding the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleged that the move has put the common people into a huge misery and harassment and that the ruling BJP knew it beforehand.
On Thursday, the Rajya Sabha witnessed multiple adjournments while the Lok Sabha was adjourned till Friday as the situation did not allow the normal proceedings to go on.
