PM Modi congratulates Malcolm Turnbull
New Delhi, July 19 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated newly elected Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull.
"Congratulations @TurnbullMalcolm. I look forward to working with you to deepen India-Australia ties," Modi tweeted.
Turnbull, who was sworn in on Tuesday, took charge of the office on Sept 15, 2015 for a brief time, after Tony Abbott stepped down.
He is also the leader of the Liberal Party.
Tweeting a picture of himself along with the Governor General, he said, "A great honour to be sworn in as Prime Minister of Australia by the Governor General this morning."
