Kolkata flyover tragedy: Locals to evacuate houses for rescue operations
Kolkata, Apr 2 (IBNS): The residents of the buildings near the site where the flyover collapsed on Thursday, killing 24 people and injuring more than 80, was served a notice by the Kolkata Police on Friday to vacate the buildings.
Two trucks are still stuck under the collapsed section of the flyover, the authorities are expected to demolish the section later in the day.
The site is surrounded by very old, multi-storied old buildings. The road being narrow,the rescue teams feel if the two vehicles collapse, part of the flyover might fall on adjacent buildings.
