JIS Group educational initiatives organizes Corporate Pulse 2016
Kolkata, Dec 2 (IBNS): JIS Group Educational Initiatives in association with ABP, on Friday had organized a knowledge session - Corporate Pulse 2016, at its Narula Institute of Technology campus, Agarpara, Kolkata.
The programme, an extension of INFOCOM 2016, was an interactive session between the industry-academia experts and students/ future budding professionals.
Avinash Velhal, (Group CIO, Vice President – IT & Process, India, Middle East & Africa, Atos), Vipul Anand, (Group CIO, Jindal Steel & Power), Joydeep Dutta , (ED & Group CTO, CDSL) and Puneet Kaur Kohli (Executive Vice-President, IT & CTO, Bajaj Capital Limited) were the key speakers of the event.
Encouraging the enthusiastic students, Avinash Velhal said, “Whenever I visit any institute I feel so happy to find the students so passionate about their career. But in the long run, somehow this passion gets lost. Always try to retain this passion within. Today’s world is so advanced and the professional environment is mostly building up on the start-ups. You have the potential to grow, learn something new, filled with unique ideas. Look up to entrepreneurship as it’s the new future.”
Vipul Anand shared with the students about the initial years of his career and his experience throughout till date. His advised the students to keep their mind, eyes and ears open towards the eco-system; try to be good in communication; not to limit their knowledge with the words of their text books. He said, “Today’s industry needs logical and analytical capabilities; this world is very open. One has to tap into their interest, hobby and potential for career growth and a brighter future.” He also added that “Now it is digital India; Startup India; Entrepreneurship India. Abundant availability of eco-system is allowing us to do that. Various portals are mushrooming around. The future is going to be much advanced than what it is today. My advice to you is to be ready for the future.”
Joydeep Dutta advised the students to be eager to learn new things every day.
He said, “Keep the hunger to learn. When I meet the youngsters now-a-days, I get very different perspective and approach towards life from them. Be passionate about work and constantly analyze your strengths and weaknesses as this in turn will open up numerous opportunities for your career.”
Kohli expressed his views and commented, “Identify yourself and your respective domain. Now sky is not the limit, it has gone far beyond. When I started my career, IT was just the enabler. Now the market is IT driven. Try to learn from each other to get a better future tomorrow. Every day is learning in one’s life. If you mentor that in your mind, the mind is ready to accept everything.”
