Former AAP Minister Somnath Bharti booked for domestic violence
New Delhi, Sept 10 (IBNS) Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) MLA and former Delhi law minister Somnath Bharti for domestic violence on the basis of a complaint by the politician's wife Lipika Mitra, reports said.
Bharti has also been booked under charges of attempt to murder, dowry harassment and cheating.
The case against the controversial AAP leader was registered on Wednesday night at the Dwarka North police station.
Lipika Mitra, who has been married to Bharti from 2010, filed a complaint of domestic against Bharti with the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) in June.
She had alleged that Bharti unleashed dogs on her when she was pregnant and subjected her to severe mental and physical torture.
Mitra has been living separately for the last three years along with their two children in Dwarka.
