Balasaheb Thorat resigns from post of state legislature party leader
Mumbai/UNI: Former Maharashtra minister and senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat has resigned from the post of state legislature party leader.
Attention is now focused on what decision the Congress High Command will take on this resignation.
In his letter to party national president Mallikarjun Kharge, Thorat has alleged that he was being 'targeted' in party meetings and 'humiliated' by state unit chief Nana Patole
"We have not received any resignation of Balasaheb Thorat," Congress state president Nana Patole said in Nagpur.
There has been a lot of politics in the Maharashtra Congress over the candidature of the Nashik Graduate Constituency.
Thorat's position as legislative party leader was in trouble due to the failure of the party and the Tambe family to coordinate in the Nashik Graduate Legislative Council elections.
Satyajit Tambe is a close relative of Thorat.
