AI pilot allegedly assaults flight engineer, locks himself in cockpit
Chennai, Jan 17 (IBNS): An Air India (AI) pilot allegedly assaulted a flight engineer inside the cockpit of Chennai-Paris flight AI 143 on Saturday morning, media reports said.
Pilot of the flight, identified as Manicklal, and the engineer, Kannan, had a heated argument inside the cockpit. Kannan was bleeding from the nose and was taken to a hospital.
The flight, with 142 passengers onboard, took off after a two-hour delay as the engineer was reportedly insisting on filing a police complaint. Manicklal who had locked himself up inside the cockpit was later taken for medical examination.
